Cream Stew, Matsuko Deluxe, and Yumiko Udo’s Agency “Natural Eight” Announces All Members Have Left the Company — New Company “Chatterbox Inc.” Introduced
On the 11th, the entertainment agency Natural Eight, which represented Cream Stew, Matsuko Deluxe, Yumiko Udo, and others, announced through its official website that all members have amicably left the company and become independent. They also introduced their new company, Chatterbox Inc.
Personally, I believe the term “amicable resignation” is often just a convenient phrase — in reality, it usually stems from dissatisfaction.
Looking back at the four times I’ve left companies myself, I can say that if there’s truly no dissatisfaction, the lowest-risk option is simply to stay. Most people wouldn’t leave a company if everything were completely satisfactory.
Generally speaking, an amicable resignation refers to leaving a company without conflict or resentment, where both parties agree and part on good terms. It’s not just about the act of quitting — it includes how the process unfolds and how the relationship continues afterward.
For instance, when the reason for resignation is clearly communicated and accepted, when the handover is done thoroughly, and when parting words are exchanged with mutual gratitude — these are typical signs of an amicable resignation. In many cases, people maintain a good relationship with former colleagues and supervisors even after leaving, and that can lead to future networking or trust-based opportunities.
There are people who return to their former companies later, but in most cases, it’s hard to keep in touch once you’ve left.
Well, if the person is fine with it, calling it an “amicable resignation” is probably acceptable.
However, if you tell a job agent during a career change that you left “on good terms,” you’re likely to be asked back, “Then why are you leaving in the first place?”
