つば九郎、担当者が死去 ヤクルト発表「功績に感謝と敬意」…6日から体調不良で休養
ヤクルトは１９日、公式ホームページで、球団マスコットのつば九郎を支えてきた球団社員が永眠したと発表した。ヤクルトファンのみならず、球界全体から絶大な人気を誇るつば九郎を支えてきたスタッフは、体調不良のため当面の間、活動を休止することが６日に発表されたばかり。わずか２週間後の悲報となった。
つば九郎の中の人がお亡くなりになったというニュースを聞きショックを隠し切れません。
ヤクルトスワローズ応援歴37年なので、つば九郎が誕生する以前からヤクルトファンではあるものの、マスコットキャラクターとしての存在感は抜群でした。当然大人なので、中の人がいるのはわかっているものの、ずっと担当されていた人がいなくなってしまうというのは感慨深いものがあります。
結局くるりんぱは達成することなく、何度も惜しいを繰り返しながら今季こそは、と思っていましたが、それもかなわぬ夢となってしまいました。
当然大人なので(繰り返さなくてもわかりますが)、2代目つば九郎の中の人が盛り上げてくれるのを待っています。

I have been a Yakult Swallows fan for 37 years, even before Tsubakuro was born, but as a mascot character, his presence was truly remarkable. Of course, as an adult, I understand that there was someone inside the costume, but knowing that the person who had been playing the role for so long is no longer with us is truly emotional.
In the end, Kururinpa was never successfully completed. Time and again, it came so close, making us believe that this season would finally be the one, but now, that dream will remain unfulfilled.
Of course, as an adult (yes, I know I don’t need to say it again), I will patiently wait for the second-generation Tsubakuro to carry on the legacy and continue to bring excitement to the fans.
