先日のMリーグで、岡田紗佳がレポーターの伊藤友里に「ハキハキしゃべれんかね、マージャンのこと分からんくせに」といった件で炎上していましたが、サクラナイツのパブリックビューイング見てなかったのであとでYouTube見て「これは行ったらあかんかったな」と素直に思いました、がかれこれ数年Mリーグ見ている身としては、松本佳世と襟川麻衣子と比べ、たどたどしくぼそぼそとしゃべり、かつ的外れな質問をする伊藤友里に不満がないとは言えませんでした。
とはいえ、エンタメである以上、セントフォース所属のビジュアルを重視して起用しているのだから、喋りはひどくても許すという人もいるでしょうが、結構ガチで麻雀見ている身としては「そんなことを聞きたいわけではないわ」と思う質問は多々あります。
岡田紗佳も36人中最下位という現状からイライラしているのもあるでしょうが、最近はいろんなところでバッシングやなにかが頻発していて生きにくい世の中だと感じます。
今から中田花奈が出ますが、どんなに成績が悪くても戦い続けるメンタルは強いですな。伊藤友里はMリーグのリポーターやめてしまわないだろうか心配です(岡田紗佳がやめるはなさそうだ)。

The other day on M-League, Sayaka Okada sparked some controversy when she told reporter Yuri Ito, “Can’t you speak more clearly? You don’t even understand mahjong.” I didn’t watch the public viewing of the Sakura Knights at the time, so I later checked it on YouTube and thought, “Yeah, she really shouldn’t have said that.”
That being said, as someone who’s been following M-League for several years now, I can’t deny that I’ve had my own frustrations with Yuri Ito. Compared to Kayo Matsumoto and Maiko Erigawa, her speech is awkward, mumbled, and often accompanied by irrelevant questions.
Granted, M-League is entertainment, and since she’s a member of CentForce, it’s clear her visual appeal was prioritized when she was hired. So, I understand that some people might forgive her poor speaking skills. But for those of us who watch mahjong seriously, there are plenty of times when her questions make us think, “That’s not what we want to hear.”
Okada is likely feeling irritated because she’s currently in last place among the 36 players, but this whole situation made me reflect on how frequently backlash and controversies seem to occur lately. It’s becoming a tough world to navigate.
Now, Kana Nakada is about to appear. No matter how poor her performance is, her ability to keep fighting shows incredible mental strength. I just hope Yuri Ito doesn’t end up quitting her role as an M-League reporter. As for Okada, I doubt she’ll be the one to leave.
