何年か前まで都内で商売をやっていたクライアントがお店をたたみ、その後医療モールに変身していたのをGoogle Mapで発見しました。辞める前から徐々に店舗を減らしていましたが、その1つの敷地が駅徒歩1分の医療モールに。

医療モールとは、複数の医療機関が1つの施設内に集まり、相互に連携しながら患者に包括的な医療サービスを提供する形態の施設です。一般的に、内科、耳鼻咽喉科、整形外科、眼科などの専門クリニックや、歯科、薬局、リハビリテーション施設が同じ建物内に併設されていることが多く、患者は1カ所でさまざまな診療科目を受診できる利便性があります。

また、医療モール内では診療科同士が連携して情報を共有することが可能であり、より効率的な診断や治療が期待されます。多くの場合、待合スペースや検査設備が充実しており、患者の快適性やスムーズな受診を重視した設計になっていて、特に都市部で増加しており、地域住民にとって身近な「ワンストップ医療」の拠点としての役割を果たしています。

高齢化を見越して利便性の高いエリアに土地を持っている人であればこういったビジネスをするのもありなのでしょうが、不動産に疎い自分は何とも…。それよりも、ころころ仕事を変えず、金儲け主義に走らず、自分の生涯を共にできるビジネスで社会に貢献したいと思うだけです。

 

A few years ago, a client of mine who used to run a wholesale business in Tokyo closed down their shop, and I recently discovered through Google Maps that the location has been transformed into a medical mall. I knew that they had been gradually reducing the number of stores before shutting down, but it was surprising to see that one of their locations, just a minute’s walk from the station, had turned into a medical mall.

A medical mall is a facility where multiple medical institutions gather under one roof, working together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients. Typically, it includes specialized clinics such as internal medicine, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), orthopedics, and ophthalmology, along with dental clinics, pharmacies, and rehabilitation centers. This setup allows patients to access a wide range of medical services in one convenient location.

Within a medical mall, different specialties can share information and collaborate, leading to more efficient diagnoses and treatments. Most facilities are designed with comfortable waiting areas and well-equipped examination rooms, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for patients. These medical malls are becoming increasingly common, particularly in urban areas, serving as convenient “one-stop” healthcare hubs for local residents.

For those who own land in highly accessible areas and are aware of the growing demand driven by an aging population, venturing into this type of business might be a viable option. As for me, with little knowledge of the real estate market, I can’t say for sure. What I do know is that I’d rather focus on a business I can dedicate my life to—one that doesn’t involve constantly switching paths or chasing quick profits, but instead aims to make a meaningful contribution to society.
