チャットGPTに「買い物」機能追加、検索強化でグーグルと競合か
米オープンAIは28日、生成AI（人工知能）「ChatGPT（チャットGPT）」に、チャットを通じて買い物ができる機能を追加したと発表した。検索機能の強化の一環という。
最近はGoogleで検索するよりChatGPTに聞いてみる機会が増えました。あまりネットでモノを買うことはありませんが、いくつかの検索候補から自分で探すより、決まったものを拾うには生成AIのほうが手間が省けるためです。
とはいえ、どこにいっても誰と話してもAIが話題になる時代。なんでも生成AI頼みでいいのでしょうか？自分でモノを考えられないですし、結局は画一的な答えしか出てこない。人間が退化する前兆ではないかと思います。だからこそ、子どもには「本を読め」「自分で考えろ」と言っています。さすがに「Googleに聞け」「ChatGPTに聞け」とは言えません。楽ですが。

On the 28th, U.S.-based OpenAI announced that it had added a shopping feature to its generative AI, ChatGPT, allowing users to make purchases through chat. This is part of an effort to enhance its search functionality.
Lately, I find myself turning to ChatGPT more often than using Google for searches. I don’t shop online much, but when it comes to narrowing down specific options, generative AI saves me the trouble of sifting through countless suggestions.
That said, we’re living in an era where AI is the topic of conversation no matter where you go or who you talk to. But is it really okay to rely on generative AI for everything? If we stop thinking for ourselves, we’ll only get standardized answers. I can’t help but wonder if this is a sign that humanity is starting to regress.
That’s why I always tell my kids, “Read books. Think for yourself.” I just can’t bring myself to say, “Ask Google” or “Ask ChatGPT”—even if it’s easier.
