昨年9月に中学受験塾の日能研「シカクいアタマをマルくする」光塩女子学院の取材をさせていただきましたが、公式サイトにインタビュー記事がアップされていたのでご紹介させてください。
これまで８年近くシカクマルの取材をさせていただいていて、大体は２か月程度で記事のアップに至っているのですが、この記事だけなぜか半年アップされないままだったので「なぜ？」「何か大失態を犯しましたでしょうか？」と4か月目ぐらいから不安が大きくなり、先月クライアントに「あの記事がアップされないのは何かありましたか？」と聞いたら、単に確認が遅れているだけということでほっと一安心。
どんな内容だったかもかなり忘れてしまいました(笑)。答えは一つではありません。
この取材で印象に残ったのは、高円寺にある光塩女子、つまり「こうえん」つながりです。意味あるのかと思いましたが、実際には聖書に登場する「あなた方は世の光、あなた方は地の塩」というのが由来だそうです。
Last September, I had the opportunity to interview Koen Joshi Gakuin for NICHINOKEN’s “Shikaku Atama wo Maruku Suru” series. I just noticed that the interview article has finally been published on their official website, so I’d love to share it with you.
Over the past eight years, I’ve been involved in many interviews for this “Shikakumaru” series, and usually, the articles go live within about two months. But for some reason, this one remained unpublished for half a year. Around the fourth month, I started wondering, “Why? Did I mess up somehow?”—and my anxiety only grew. So last month, I finally asked the client, “Is there any particular reason that article hasn’t been published?” Thankfully, the delay was simply due to a backlog in their review process. What a relief!
To be honest, by now, I’ve forgotten most of what we talked about in the interview (lol). As always, there’s never just one right answer.
What did stick in my mind, though, was the name Koen Joshi Gakuin in Koenji—which made me think of the connection between “Koen” (the school) and “Koen” (the neighborhood). I initially thought it might just be a coincidence, but it turns out the name comes from a biblical phrase: “You are the light of the world; you are the salt of the earth.”
