昨年12月に中学受験塾の日能研「シカクいアタマをマルくする」成蹊中学校の取材をさせていただきましたが、公式サイトにインタビュー記事がアップされていたのでご紹介させてください。
成蹊中学とは、東京都武蔵野市吉祥寺北町に位置する私立の中高一貫校。1914年に旧制成蹊中学校として設立され、1925年には旧制成蹊高等学校が開校しました。校名の「成蹊」ですが、中国の古典『史記』に由来し、「桃李不言下自成蹊(桃や李は何も言わなくても、その下には自然と道ができる)」という言葉から取られていますが、徳のある人のもとには自然と人が集まることを意味しています。
昨日は大船にある清泉女学院に取材に行きましたが、社会の先生はお話が面白い。自分が社会好きということもあるかもしれません。その点子供は算数が好きです。
Last December, we had the opportunity to visit and interview Seikei Junior High School as part of the “Shikaku na Atama wo Maruku Suru” series by NICHINOKEN, a leading entrance exam prep school in Japan. About Seikei Junior High School
Located in Kichijoji-Kitamachi, Musashino City, Tokyo, Seikei Junior High School is a private integrated junior and senior high school. It was originally established in 1914 as Seikei Junior High School under the old education system, and Seikei High School followed in 1925.
The name “Seikei” comes from a phrase in the Chinese historical text Shiji: “Peach and plum trees do not speak, yet a path naturally forms beneath them.” This signifies that people are naturally drawn to those with virtue.

Yesterday, we also visited Seisen Jogakuin in Ofuna for another interview. The social studies teacher there was especially engaging—though that might also be because I personally enjoy the subject. On the other hand, my child happens to love math!
