“Undercover Consultant Roundtable” – Is a Consulting Firm Heaven or Hell?
Maximum Annual Salary of 40 Million Yen, “Boss Gacha,” and Excess Consultants
The consulting giant, Accenture, shows no signs of slowing down. From strategy to IT, it seamlessly integrates across industries, securing long-term contracts with client companies. For over ten consecutive years, both revenue and workforce have continued to expand. Among job-seeking students from top-tier universities, Accenture remains a highly coveted employer.
If you’ve ever worked with consultants, you’ll know—they rarely take true responsibility for their work and often speak from a condescending perspective. Maybe it’s because many of them come from elite academic backgrounds, but their actual value is questionable. That’s why we have completely removed the word “consulting” from our website. They are great at making presentations, sure, but when it comes to hands-on work, they hardly understand anything.
It is definitely an unnecessary industry for small and medium-sized enterprises, and even large corporations do not use it permanently. It might be fair to say that consulting is an industry companies turn to when they have excess funds, using consultants to shift responsibility before ultimately letting them go.
