昨年12月に中学受験塾の日能研「シカクいアタマをマルくする」の成蹊中学校の取材をさせていただきました。公式サイトに問題内容がアップされていたのでご紹介させてください。
成蹊中学といえば、安倍晋三元首相の出身校。吉祥寺にあることは知っていましたが、中に入ったことはありませんでした。東京都内は歴史のある学校が多く、取材行くと新しい学校もあれば、古さを感じることもあります。どちらがいい悪いもありませんが、自分がそこの生徒だった時に、何年か経ってガラッと変わっていたら悲しくなるかなと思います。
早稲田大学なんて戸山キャンパスは古き良き時代の感じではなく、全く別物となってしまい悲しいです。
さて、そんなことはさておき、今回の記事のテーマはトキでした。トキは見たこともないし、佐渡に行ったこともありません。そんなトキが人懐っこいというのは聞いたことはありませんが、動物は結構怖くて、犬にかまれたことはあるし、先日はうちのメス猫に殴られて流血するしで、好きか嫌いかというとあまり好きではありません。でも、うちのオス猫は常に寄り添ってくるかわいい猫。仕事しているとトントンと叩いてきたり、タイピングをしているひじの下から顔を入れてきたりします。
そんな動物の人懐っこさを取材してきましたのでぜひ解いて見てください。
明日2月1日は東京と神奈川の中学受験の天王山ですね。うちの子も来年かぁ。お金かかるのでしっかり仕事をしていきます。
In December last year, I had the opportunity to visit Seikei Junior High School for an interview as part of Nichinoken’s middle school entrance exam program, “Shikakui Atama wo Maruku Suru” (Making a Square Head Round). Seikei Junior High School is known as the alma mater of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. I knew it was located in Kichijoji, but I had never been inside the school before. Many schools in Tokyo have rich histories, and when I visit them for interviews, some have a modern feel while others give off a more traditional atmosphere. I wouldn’t say one is better than the other, but if I were a student there and the school changed drastically after a few years, I think I’d feel a little sad.
For instance, Waseda University’s Toyama Campus no longer has that old, nostalgic charm—it has transformed into something completely different, which I find a bit disappointing.
Anyway, setting that aside, the theme of this article is the crested ibis (toki). I’ve never seen one in person, nor have I ever been to Sado Island, where they are commonly found. I’ve heard that they aren’t particularly friendly animals, but I’ve had my fair share of experiences with animals. I’ve been bitten by a dog before, and just recently, my female cat scratched me, drawing blood. So, if you ask me whether I like animals or not, I’d probably say I’m not the biggest fan. However, my male cat is an exception—he’s incredibly affectionate. When I’m working, he’ll tap me on the arm or sneak his head under my elbow while I’m typing.
